A couple of points:

1) Most people call the money they get for living expenses in return for work "a paycheck."

2) Obviously he has issues sticking with anything once it gets hard, but somehow companies keep hiring him because he's convinced influential people that one day he might live up to his potential. This is only an option for white men.
