A larger problem with SAFe that maybe you haven't seen yet is that it seems _none_ of them have read the Mythical Man Month and they literally seem to think that if they break an epic into 8 stories that can theoretically be done in a sprint that they can assign 8 people to the stories and it will all be done in a sprint, even if the person responsible for the foundational story that _has_ to be done first tells them that this can't work and isn't going to happen.
This creates a very burnt out first developer who tries to get _something_ in place quickly that the others can build on, knowing it will all be crap. It also creates conflict if the other developers are motivated to try or if they're not they just check out. It also seems to have zero tools for the majority of developers who, even if the situation isn't as dire as I just described, will be "almost done" for the entire sprint, while their coworkers all know or suspect they haven't even started.
