Also, when I was talking about pedagogical skills, I was more talking about even if someone works full-time as a developer and then takes a faculty position somewhere, at that point they're no longer a full-time developer and certain parts of their skillset will begin deteriorating, even as they develop the skills to teach in a college/university setting.
