Hey, Jason, thanks for reading my article. The choice of React was made before I joined the team, and is not likely to change any time soon, due to the amount of code that's already written.

We are NOT shareholder-centric, but instead are stakeholder-centric: the interests of our employees and customers (and at some point, community) are very important.

I didn't say what we do because I lead the front-end team, and I'm not the best person to do that. Most of our customers are in the US government, and they know what we do. I pushed to have this publication because there are several articles in my personal backlog that align strongly with the values above, and I thought it would be a great way to boost both the company and myself, as well as to provide a way for potential applicants to know what sort of team they would be joining before an interview is scheduled. My hope is that others will also contribute, but we're a small team, everyone is busy. As you know, my hands are currently full with my "Why React Hooks Suck" series, so it may be some time before I post the articles I think belong here.

As to whether "radical optimism" is a bad thing--My mother used to say that when I'd get laid off (which happens a lot to people who are not sufficiently similar to decision-makers) that I'd just shrug it off and say "that's ok, at my next job I'll make more money." Which was true. Is that toxic, or is that just choosing which story to tell about the facts?

_Note: that last paragraph was edited because a coworker pointed out that my initial response might not have completely reflected our core values._
