I actually like Typescript, but I feel like I could have done many more things with actual business value if I hadn’t been spending all that time trying to puzzle out what type to give a variable that comes out at the end of a chain of 4 generic types.

At the end of the day, Typescript is there to keep developers from making dumb mistakes. And the type of developer that is most guilty of the types of mistakes Typescript helps prevent is never going to be able to do the mental gymnastics for Typescript to truly help them. That’s why they make all those mistakes to begin with.
