I have worked in tiny 5-person shops, crazy startups, mega corporations, and government contractors. I have been a direct consultant, a W-2 contractor, and an employee. On all of those teams, close to 100% of my coworkers held the same opinion you do. However, I delivered results at approximately the same speed as those people. Often a little faster, sometimes slightly slower, always better quality and usually with less rework.

But, sure, we can agree to disagree. At this point in your career, you may not even have time to benefit from insisting on always practicing skills that allow you to deliver quality faster.
