I think a corollary to all of this is there are a bunch of thought leaders coming up that didn't learn the lessons that we learned the hard way that are actively telling people to do things that will lead to disaster. and those people don't have the experience to know that you don't follow someone simply because they're seen as a thought leader.

And I think the performance of the Facebook website on a phone is particularly illustrative of how all those bad architectural decisions the React team has been making (and leading others to) in the past couple of versions are coming home to roost.
