I think it's revealing that Jane is a woman here. The real thing that happened is that the men on the team couldn't deal with having a woman kick ass and get things done, so once the immediate emergency was over they started undermining her in subtle ways that caused her to speak up to defend herself (outbursts). Because this subtle undermining is a really normal thing to do to women, it went unnoticed, whereas her escalating attempts to stop it did not. She was in a no0win situation. Let people talk over her, give men credit for her ideas, defer to people who have no expertise to even be in the conversation, or speak up for herself and be perceived as the problem.
