I think lodash is a master class in functional programming, so developers should be extremely familiar with it (or they won't have a gut level understanding of a lot of functional techniques). It's easier to learn FP by fully putting someone else's code into practice that is a very good use of FP, then learning to do that yourself.

I vehemently disagree with a lot that the React team says, so you're never going to convince me with an appeal to authority argument that cites them as the source. One reason I stay with React is that it encourages a ton of bad practice, and I have made a career cleaning up bad code.
