I think maybe the "buy me a coffee" thing is the best way for us as Medium writers. It allows those who can and want to to support us. However, I haven't tried it bc I don't want to set all that up. I'd be interested if someone didn't put their articles behind paywalls but held their hand out more directly if that would earn them more or less. I suspect less, but IDK.
