I used to be a Flash developer (and before that, an Authorware developer). After that, I developed in ASP classic. Just because people pay for a product it doesn't guarantee that the maintainer won't get bored and wander off. But it does mean that if the maintainer of a package you use gets bored and wander off, you're quite free to fork it and maintain it yourself.
