I've actually written a lot about just some of the problems I see with hooks (I'm not done yet). I don't see the problems because I'm not familiar with the ecosystem--quite the reverse. I think a lot of the people "not seeing" the problems with hooks are not seeing them in the way the people in the old fable all insisted they could see the emperor's beautiful clothes (because only stupid people can't see them).
