MPO is it's hypocritical for people who are making money aggregating others' work to refuse to link to the work of people who are monetizing their own work in whatever way. There are a few solutions IMO. First, you can just post your "friends link" strategically. Second, you can initially publish outside the paywall, then bring it inside after it's been picked up by the aggregators (if I'm planning to do this, I put a notice at the bottom that informs readers that this will happen so aggregators can choose to use my link or not based on that intention).

I also think that advertising is terrible. I recently realized that half the screen real estate on my phone was being used up by ads, which were often animated and made it difficult to read the actual content. I know many sites are supported by advertising, but I finally had to block that because it was just horrible. Ironically, most sites that tell you how to do this have just as much, if not more, advertising. I'd rather have the option to shut off advertising by paying TBH.
