My Surface 3 I bought in 2014 still works mostly fine. It did get that thing touch screen computers of that era were prone to (a spot in the upper right that continually thought it was clicked even when it wasn't), which was easy to work around but got annoying. Plus 8 years is plenty of lifespan for a computer.
