Oh it was entirely intentional. I love Typescript as a technician. It gives me interesting problems to solve that have almost no actual business value. As a person who wants to deliver business value, I detest Typescript. I have a planned post to flesh that out, and part of the reason I wrote this was to be able to point to it as an example of a time sink.

But also because this is the part of dealing with Typescript no one talks about, and if you have to unravel all this stuff no one is helping you.
