Thanks for mentioning my post, though this one might have been a better fit https://medium.com/codex/everything-you-thought-you-knew-about-react-functional-components-is-wrong-baf2dfc4f6f. Even though I'm not a huge fan of how React does this stuff, you haven't convinced me, in part because you didn't include anything to show how often your Vue component code is running. It's easy to say something is rendering a lot relative to the 0 renders you show (by not showing anything about how your Vue component is rendering). Also, React doesn't render every time the function runs. It's weird, but sometimes the function runs to see if it should render.
