That respect goes both ways. IIRC, you haven't been at this job for long. Culture change doesn't happen over night, and trust takes time to build. They believe their existing way of working works just fine, and they have no reason to listen to you.

If you're good at what you do, after a few "approve with suggestions" where the suggestions were ignored and something bad happened, people will start to listen, especially if your work that you wrote test-first is bulletproof and easy to change.

But it never hurts to keep one eye on the door, even if something in the environment doesn't make you feel devalued.
