The bedrock of our economy is allowing wealthy men, mostly white, to stand up something that produces the illusion of value for just long enough to siphon even more value into their own pockets. Then they leave everyone else with the detritus this produces. From plastic waste to leaking oil wells to dead shopping malls, we are drowning in the leftover junk left behind by rich guys on their way to buy, borrow, die.
