This would be cool if the average person had the choice not to have to sell their labor in order to live. So you could just say "I'll devote myself to raising my kids" or "I'll take care of my elderly mother full-time." But we live in a fucked up world where we CAN'T. And we can't tell our children not to need what they need, and we ESPECIALLY can't do that with ailing relatives (they tend to not ever get to a point where they can help out more as time goes on).
