Or the “my editor lets me not need that” garbage leaving them hobbled in the field where their magical workstation setup is unavailable and they’re stuck trying to use JOE or NANO at the command line. Don’t even get me started about the myriad of made up “disadvantages” that hold water like a steel…

Which is close to never for most developers. Would you insist on using a hand saw all the time because you might some day be called to cut a board in a time or place where there's no power?
